Comfort Me

Like a father holds a newborn
rocking my sweet dreams back and forth
so tender yet strong

Breathe into me
soothing lullabies of my youthful naiveté
like the winds hum to trees
the bewitching melodies of this era

Hold onto me
like I'm your favourite childhood memory
blooming in gardens of nostalgia
where the spirit meets the flesh

Don't let me go
or in anguish I'll cry
don't let me slip out of your grasp
like a mundane thought
nourish our private conversations
in between glances

Keep me close
and never let me fall
