How Poetry Inspired Our Skincare | Skincare Brand That Supports Poetry
I am sure many of you've wondered how in the world poetry inspired our skincare and why we are a skincare brand that supports poetry.
How it all started
It was a beautiful summer day in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado. I (the founder) was driving and feeling the warm rays of sun and feeling somewhat detached from it all. It was the summer of 2020, a really tough summer. I was laid off from my position as a Regional Sales Manager at Glo Skin Beauty (Professional Skincare Company) due to the pandemic and I wasn't sure when this pandemic would end or if I would ever get another great job anytime soon.
I kept seeing friends go out of business, others around me kept losing their jobs and I felt so wounded by it all that I needed to find a solution to move forward, to find hope and to see the light at the end of the tunnel. So I decided that I didn't want to depend on anyone any more, I wanted to only depend upon myself. I was tired of putting my heart into a job yet later feel so disposable, lose everything and have to start all over again.
So I decided to let my wound be the courage to stand up and create something I was passionate about and that no one could take away from me. I united my two passions, poetry and skincare to create skin poetry. After all, I was familiar with the industry and I wanted to use my knowledgable about skincare ingredients and clean beauty. I was also writing poetry on the side for my own therapy, so why not? It was perfect, so perfect and yet an impossible idea, something no one had ever done prior to me, but I didn't care, I didn't listen and I went for it because at the end of the day, I BELIEVE IN MYSELF.
Combining both was challenging at first, but as I started to get to know the poet community I felt in love deeper with my idea to unite both. I wanted to also help modern poets, to give them a chance for their voice to be heard, so I started collaborating with poets and donating a portion of all purchases to the Poetry Foundation while also helping poets by selling their book at my store and it all grew from there.
This has been so far the most beautiful journey I've ever embraced. So full of challenges, full of joy, tears and all has been worth it.
Poet's Garden Alchemist is not just a skincare brand that creates amazing quality products to illuminate your skin without having to compromise the quality of our ingredients. We choose safe non-toxic ingredients over cheaper, toxic ones for the health and well-being of our customers. We also choose to share our meaning of beauty at a deeper level, we want to illuminate also your soul! That is real beauty! We wish for everyone to experience poems & words that will make their heart full, that will show how beauty is so much more than just skin deep.
As the founder, I can honestly say that my heart is so full. Helping the poet community while deepening the meaning of beauty has brought so much joy to my soul. Being kind and having hope during such tough times have brought a ray of sunshine to my daily life, to my customers and poet collaborators. HOPE is truly meaningful.
